Provincial Sport
Organizations (PSO) BC Athlete Assistance Program
The PSO BC Athlete Assistance Program (BC AAP)
focuses on support to those athletes who are in the
position to compete for Team BC at the Canada Games and
are just below those receiving Sport Canada Athlete
Assistance Program funding (S1/S2 carding levels).
- To focus support to athletes in the “training to
compete” and “training to win” stages of Canadian
Sport for Life – Long Term Athlete Development
Model;
- To contribute to improved performances of Team
BC athletes at the Canada Games; and
- To increase the number of British Columbia
athletes reaching federal carding status thus
expanding British Columbia representation on
national teams and at eligible major international
multi-sport Games.
Each eligible PSO (list provided in BC AAP PSO or
Athletes with a Disability Guidelines, Policies and
Procedures document) will have developed sport specific
selection criteria based on the criteria outlined in the
BC Athlete Assistance Program guidelines, policies and
procedures document. This document as well as the
Athlete Application Form can be downloaded from the
links on the right. Visit your PSOs website or contact
them to get information on the BC AAP sport specific
selection criteria.
