Historic Sites Overview
British Columbia has many historic sites that showcase
the province's colourful history. At these places, visitors
can experience and learn about early life in B.C.
One of the roles of the
Heritage Branch is to oversee the management of 11 provincially-owned historic
properties. Most of these properties are managed through a 15-year
Site Management Agreement with community-based organizations. Clicking on any of the sites listed in the right
menu will provide an
introduction to the facilities and services offered. In most cases,
there will be additional links to these attraction's websites. To find out
more,
refer to the contact information on the pages.Visitors are also
invited to explore the fascinating legacy of
British Columbia’s heritage by simply travelling through
our beautiful province. Heritage is everywhere -
just look around! Perhaps it's at your school,
your work, your favourite restaurant or your favourite
mountain biking trail.
