Conducting Impact Assessments
The branch has a set of guidelines for
conducting impact assessments.
This document,
B.C.
Archaeological Impact Assessment Guidelines,
applies to development projects that are reviewable
under British Columbia's
Environmental Assessment Act. However, they may
also be applied to other developments.
These are flexible guidelines, not intended to be
used in a one-size-fits-all way to all development
projects. Although certain types of information are
gathered in every case, each archaeological study
must be customized to its unique situation.
If you are looking to conduct an impact
assessment, branch staff are available to meet with
you to provide project-specific clarification and
interpretation of the guidelines.
